Accessibility for the partially disabled and wheelchair users

Next to the Concertgebouw's main entrance there are 7 free parking spaces reserved for holders of an invalid parking (LPO) permit. In the entrance hall (under the stairway leading to the Recital Hall) wheelchairs are available for use. There are also lifts to the Small Hall and to the balconies of the Main Hall.

In both the Main Hall and the Recital Hall special places/seats are reserved for wheelchair users and their helpers. On the seating plan you can see the position of these seats. Given that not all places/seats are equally suitable for each different kind of wheelchair, we suggest to contact the sales department of the Concertgebouw in advance for more specific advice: 020-6718345.

Please remember that wheelchairs or rollators may not be left in corridors or in aisles. Members of the Concertgebouw's staff can provide assistance if and as required.

Facilities for the hard of hearing

For those who are hard of hearing the Concertgebouw offers a choice between 2 different systems. You can use an infra-red ear telephone that receives a signal from transmitters situated in the balconies. Or you can use the so-called chin receiver, which transmits the sound through your own hearing aid. Both systems can be obtained at the cloakrooms for the Main Hall and for the Recital Hall.

Additional facilities

In some exceptional circumstances it is permitted for our visitors to be accompanied by a guide-dog.

Should you be unable to travel to or from a concert on your own, you can contact the Stadsmobiel: 020-4110055.

Should you have any questions before, during or after a concert, please do not hesitate to ask a member of the Concertgebouw's staff at an appropriate moment. This will enable us to solve any eventual problem as soon as possible.
