Four Songs & Vier letzte Lieder
During their close collaboration on Robert Heppener’s Four Songs Aylin Sezer and Ed Spanjaard came up with the idea for a Lieder recital in which Strauss’ last masterpiece simply could not be missed. The concert starts with Turkish folk songs after which it is not such a big step to a beautiful ballad by Rachmaninov. The last set of songs on the programme was chosen because of its playful charm – and because Poulenc was one of Heppener’s favourite composers.
