Polo de Haas played in his entire career a lot of music of the French composer and 'velvet man' Erik Satie. After graduating at the Amsterdam Conservatory, De Haas organised a concert in the small hall of the Concertgebouw devoted to the works of the then not very well known composer Erik Satie. In this hall composers are honored with their names in light blue signs so De Haas created a similar sign in the honor of Erik Satie. Famous Dutch performer Ramses Shaffy asked him to perform music of Erik Satie in the legendary program Shaffy Chantant. De Haas also staged 'Parade' and the film 'Entr'acte' for which Erik Satie wrote music. In this concert De Haas plays a selection of the most loved and intriguing pieces of this eccentric and creative French master. The concert ends with a series of improvisations inspired by paintings and etchings that also shall be projected. The enigmatic attracts Polo de Haas in the images of René Margritte, Escher and Patricia Watwood.
