Season 2020-2021
Season 2020-2021
Intense playing in surprising combinations
Sometimes the sound of two or three different instruments playing together reinforces each instrument’s individual sound. Each concert in this series features a string ensemble and a guest. The Amsterdam Sinfonietta Soloists, made up of the principal players of the Amsterdam Sinfonietta, will perform Schubert’s ‘Trout’ Quintet with pianist David Kadouch. Acclaimed soloists Tobias Feldmann, Lise Berthaud and Julian Steckel will play Bach’s Goldberg Variations in a version for string trio.
French pianist Lucas Debargue will join forces with musical companions from all over the world for three masterful and completely different piano quartets by Schumann, Brahms and Fauré. One notable ‘variation’ is the trio made up of French-horn player Teunis van der Zwart, violinist Isabelle Faust and pianist Alexander Melnikov: the horn adds a warm, unifying lustre to the Brahms trio.
