The Concertgebouw and the coronavirus

- most recent update: Wednesday October 14 -

Latest news: concerts canceled until November 10th
To prevent the spread of the corona virus, the government announced additional measures on Tuesday, October 13. One of those measures means that a maximum of 30 people may come together. Organizing concerts for just 30 visitors is not possible for The Concertgebouw. As a result, we are unfortunately forced to cancel all planned concerts up to and including Tuesday, November 10. Ticket buyers will be informed as soon as possible about the settlement of purchased tickets. The most recent information can be found on this page.

Please notice: as of Tuesday, September 29, you must wear a face mask when entering and leaving The Concertgebouw, and when you move through the building.

Our doors are open again!

Since July, the doors of The Concertgebouw have been open again! We're happy to announce the new programme for the autumn. During these concerts, the corona measures of The Concertgebouw will be in effect.

Originally planned concerts up to December 31st 2020

The originally planned concerts (this means the concerts that were planned for the 2020-2021 season before the start of the corona crisis) until December 31 have been canceled or moved. Tickets for rescheduled concerts remain valid on the new date. All customers with tickets for these concerts have now been informed by e-mail about the cancellation or rescheduling of the concerts.

We looked for alternative dates for as many concerts as possible. Given the enormous amount of concerts in The Concertgebouw, it was not possible for all concerts to reschedule unfortunately.

Voucher, donation or refund

If we are unable to move your concert(s), or if the new date is not convenient for you, we will of course offer you compensation for the tickets you have purchased. For this, we follow the national initiative "Save your ticket, enjoy later" which was presented by theaters and concert halls. More information can be found on

You can choose for a voucher, a gift or a refund of your tickets. Ticket buyers (for concerts up to December, 31) have received an email with the instructions and the link with which you can complete the settlement of your concert tickets of your choice online.

Concerts after January 1 2021

The situation after January 1 2021 is still uncertain. Tickets for concerts from January 1 (with the exception of the Concertgebouworkest) are currently on sale. There is no risk of buying tickets for these concerts: The Concertgebouw offers you an easy online way to convert the value of tickets purchased for a canceled or rescheduled concert into a voucher or refund. This way you are always assured that you will get your money back. Or you can simply choose tickets for another concert. When a concert has to be canceled or moved to a later date, we will contact you. The Concertgebouw follows the RIVM guidelines when deciding whether and in what form concerts can take place in the autumn.

The Concertgebouw is in close contact with the authorities and follows developments closely. You will find the most current information on this page.
