Season 2020-2021
Season 2020-2021
Welcome to the magic garden
Enjoy songs about nature and the mysteries of the night, magic gardens and Scheherazade – they’re all included in this series of vocal concerts. Tenor Christoph Prégardien and the Oberon Trio will perform folk songs by Haydn and Beethoven. The young Egyptian soprano Fatma Said and pianist Malcolm Martineau will join forces for Ravel’s song cycle Shéhérazade and songs by composers such as Falla and Obradors.
Soprano Anna Prohaska will sing Schubert’s Abendstern, plus works by Britten, Wolf and Messiaen. Holland’s own Thomas Oliemans will take you to the world of Caplet, Fauré and Ravel. British mezzo-soprano Sarah Connolly was described by Bachtrack thus: ‘She projected her warm, Burgundy-rich voice, aided by superb articulation and understanding of her words, into the auditorium.’ In a nutshell: songs that will enchant and energise you.
