In Elaia, composer Amir Swaab unveils a collection of character pieces for piano, violin, cello, and accordion. These new compositions intertwine tradition and innovation, giving rise to melodies that are both original and timeless. The music is poetic, atmospheric, and inviting, while offering harmonic richness and profound depth.
Merel Vercammen (violin), Hadewych van Gent (cello), and Mattias Spee (piano) bring these works to life. Each of them is renowned not only for refined artistry and musical sensitivity, but also for pursuing an independent course within the classical music world.
Elaia is a rare homage to melody and harmony: new musical narratives voiced through a universal musical language. This is music that seeks not to fracture, but to heal; not to confront, but to connect. Through Elaia, Amir Swaab aspires to renew the timeless power of music - drawing new possibilities from an ancient and enduring source.
