Symphony No. 9 in d minor, op. 125
Conductor Iván Fischer was awarded the Concertgebouw Prize last year. This consummate artist is bringing his Budapest Festival Orchestra back to Amsterdam. This time they will be performing Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, a sing-along favourite, especially the final chorus 'Alle Menschen werden Brüder' (All men shall be brothers). The singers come from all 27 member states of the European Union, demonstrating the possibility of peaceful international coexistence.
