Chanukah, the festival of lights, is an ancient Jewish holiday. For the seventh time we will celebrate Chanukah with the Jewish Community of Amsterdam jointly lighting the Chanukia (traditional eight-armed candelabra) on the eight night of Chanukah. We’ve put together a special program - which will appeal to both a Jewish and non-Jewish audience.

Musicians and repertoire
Once again Cantor Israel Nachman will be joining us with his breathtaking voice together with Yoni Rose, Chief Cantor of Frankfurt. They will be accompanied by the Jewish Amsterdam Chamber Ensemble conducted by maestro Joan Berkhemer. We will perform a broad-spectrum program incorporating Jewish, Israeli, classical, and contemporary music. This evening we will bring special attention to Victor Schlesinger’s historic concert in The Concertgebouw exactly 100 years ago. The Musical Director for the evening will be Barry Mehler and Concert patron will be Leo Samama.

At our concert you’ll enjoy more than just music. Everyone will be treated to a special Chanukah delicacy 'sufganiot' (jelly doughnuts) and kosher wine – all included in the ticket price.
