Symphony No. 9 in e minor, op. 95 'From the New World'
This concert has no intermission
Dvořák was inspired to write his Ninth Symphony (also known as the ‘New World’ Symphony) by America’s nature and people, and it’s still one of his best-loved symphonies. Over sixty years later, Bernstein looked back across the ocean to Europe for his opera Candide, based on Voltaire’s eponymous satire.
