The Ferschtman family and some musician friends will play a series of three concerts centred on Shostakovich, a composer close to their hearts. They’re eager to pass on the secrets of performing this music to the next generation. This second concert reflects the post-1934 era, the terror under Stalin’s reign. Dmitri Ferstman says, ‘it was a terrible time, but for Shostakovich it was also a fruitful one.’
