The Spanish vocal group Cantoría specialises in enticing programmes of music from the Renaissance and baroque periods. The singers take this old repertoire as close as possible to listeners, by telling them precisely what they’re doing and what the music is about. During this Afternoon Concert, they’ll perform ensaladas by Renaissance composer Mateo Flecha. Songs full of humour that tell stories, about subjects and emotions that are just as topical today as they were five hundred years ago.
