The Rising Stars series presents the stars of tomorrow playing some adventurous programmes. Austrian cellist Valerie Fritz thinks that you ought to come out of a concert a different person than when you went in. In the programme Places of Longing she and her duo partner, pianist Mario Häring, will play music by Clarke, Shostakovich and Walshe, whose piece is about the challenges faced by astronauts communicating with their partners on earth.
