Tonight, the brand-new work Strange and Artificial Echoesby 2024-2025 composer in residence Caroline Shaw, written for the unconventional percussion quartet Sō Percussion. Shaw finds it important to work with musicians as she creates a piece, and she strives for the feeling that composer and musicians together form a band. Caroline Shaw will also talk about her new work tonight in a short conversation with one of the members of Sō Percussion. Hear her music, along with pieces by her fellow American composers Steve Reich and Bryce Dessner.
