The ‘Scherpdenkers’ (‘clear thinkers’) series presents stories and music that provide food for thought. Tonight’s guests are psychology professor and author Ap Dijksterhuis and the Ragazze Quartet. Their programme Digital Detox takes a closer look at our addiction to the digital. In 2024, the average person spent five hours looking at their smartphone, six hours for the average millennial. Dijksterhuis, ‘professor of happiness’, will delve into the attraction that our smartphones have for us, while offering a glimpse of a way out. Overstimulation, detoxing and deliverance are in Bryce Dessner’s music. Daniel Wohl has written a new composition especially for Scherpdenkers.
After the concert is over, have a drink (included in the ticket price) and chat about what you‘ve heard.
