Dinner with a view of the city, just in time for your concert
On evenings when concerts take place in the Main Hall, Restaurant LIER is open. Enjoy a relaxed two- or three-course dinner well before the concert, with views over Museumplein and the rooftops of Amsterdam. In the reservation module, you can immediately see which dinner start times fit with your concert.
After the Sunday Morning Concert or before a Sunday matinee, the chef will be delighted to welcome you for a sumptuous lunch featuring a menu that changes weekly. Are you vegetarian or do you have any other dietary requirements? Simply let us know when you make your booking.

Start your concert experience in a relaxed and stylish setting. At LIER, you can enjoy seasonal dishes made with regional ingredients, served in a stylish setting with sweeping views over Amsterdam. As soon as you step inside, you can leave your worries behind: you’ll dine just a short walk from your seat in the Main Hall and will always be on time for the first note.

LIER's menu:
Every six weeks, our chef creates a new menu, inspired by the season and the finest regional ingredients. You can choose between a two-course or three-course dinner; the two-course dinner consists of a starter and a main course, and you can easily add a dessert when you arrive. If you wish, you can round off your meal with a matching wine pairing.
During your dinner, you’ll discover some surprising combinations; each dish has been carefully crafted to ensure your evening gets off to a delicious start before the concert.

During the SummerConcerts powered by VriendenLoterij in July and August, you can also enjoy a delicious dinner in LIER before the concert. We serve a fixed three-course menu for only €48 per person (excluding drinks). We also offer a beautifully paired wine selection.

About Restaurant LIER
Restaurant LIER is located on the first floor, above the main entrance of The Concertgebouw. It is a place where past and present come together: from the architecture to the interior, from the traditional hospitality to the culinary signature.
The name
The restaurant’s name refers to the musical instrument featured in The Concertgebouw’s logo: the lyre. In ancient Greece, this instrument was used to accompany poets (hence the word ‘lyric’), and later it became a universal symbol of music.
Since the opening of The Concertgebouw in 1888, the lyre has adorned the roof of the Main Hall. In a 1964 illustrated booklet for donors, it is described as follows: ‘The lyre on the roof: a musical beacon in the beloved cityscape. Beneath this roof, people make music and convey the beauty of the world of sound to our listeners.’ The golden lyre has remained an iconic feature of The Concertgebouw ever since.

Reservations can be made via this website. You pay after dinner, in the restaurant. Please note: your personal data is covered by the privacy policy of Vermaat, with Guestplan as sub-processor, instead of The Concertgebouw.
