Mustafa en Ramy Youssef in Het Concertgebouw

On Friday, November 21, Canadian-Sudanese singer-songwriter Mustafa and American-Egyptian comedian and actor Ramy Youssef will present a remarkable evening at The Concertgebouw. The two friends bring together their talents in a unique combination of music and comedy, while also creating space for grief and reflection. The concert is part of an exclusive European tour visiting only five cities: Paris, Oslo, Stockholm, London, and Amsterdam. Ticket sales begin Friday, October 10, at 11:00 a.m. via The Concertgebouw’s website.
The evening opens with Ramy Youssef, known for his Golden Globe–winning TV series Ramy, in which he explores the search for identity and faith with humor and vulnerability. Following his set, Mustafa will perform an intimate musical program blending folk and traditional Arabic influences. About his acclaimed album Dunya, Rolling Stone wrote: “With its rich melody and understated hooks, Dunya is a merging of Mustafa’s pop sensibility.” Dutch newspaper NRC also praised the record, calling it “one of the most impressive debut albums of the season – gentle and searching in a world of violence.”
The collaboration between Mustafa and Ramy Youssef is not new: Youssef previously directed one of Mustafa’s music videos, and both have been involved in humanitarian aid projects supporting Palestine and Sudan.
