Magnificent music by pianists with an impressive track record

Imagine: the greatest music for piano, played by pianists with an impressive track record. In this series of Great Pianists, the acclaimed Krystian Zimerman pays tribute to Chopin, a composer from his native country, whose work he has cherished all his life. With his crystal-clear playing and restrained emotionality, Nikolai Lugansky also interprets music by the Polish composer.

Beethoven's sonatas hold no secrets for Igor Levit: he has completed an award-winning recording of all 32. As a prelude to the Beethoven Year, he presents a selection from this unsurpassed series. Hélène Grimaud also chooses Beethoven: she plays his last sonata, combined with a work by Schubert. A poet and juggler at the piano is Mao Fujita, who is in his twenties. The Japanese pianist presents a sample of pianistic masterpieces, including works by Mozart, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff and Debussy.
