Piano Trios on Mondays

A gem of classical music: the piano trio. This season, you’ll hear no fewer than six piano trios, spread across two series. ‘Melancholy, tenderness and exuberance create a lively, emotional concert experience’, says The Strad of the Amatis Trio’s playing. In the Recital Hall, the musicians will perform Mendelssohn’s sublime Second Piano Trio. They will also perform movements from various works; each piece will be introduced beforehand. 

Trio con Brio Copenhagen, hailed as a worthy successor to the legendary Beaux Arts Trio, combines works by Weinberg and Schubert. Mendelssohn’s First is performed by Trio Wanderer, who will also be performing works by Liszt and Ravel. The ensemble has a long history at the Kleine Zaal and is celebrating its 40th anniversary this season. Join the musicians in celebrating this special occasion!
