Piano Trios on Wednesdays

They come from all corners of the globe: the piano trios performing in the Recital Hall as part of the Wednesday evening series. A deep friendship and a shared vision of music unite the members of the French Trio Zadig. They promise a truly special evening by performing a trio arrangement of Schönberg’s famous string sextet Verklärte Nacht. The members of Trio Gaspard hail from Germany, Greece and England and turn their attention to the Czech Republic in a programme featuring Smetana, Suk and Dvořák.

The Dutch Van Baerle Trio is playing a home game. Hannes Minnaar, Maria Milstein and Gideon den Herder regard the Concertgebouw as their musical living room; they named their trio after the street on which the concert hall is situated. Old and new go hand in hand on their programme, featuring works by Schumann, Brahms and MacMillan.
