On 25 November 1975 – nearly 50 years ago – Suriname became independent after over three centuries of Dutch rule. We’re celebrating this afternoon with a dazzling programme of Surinamese classics performed by an equally dazzling ensemble of icons. Black Harmony, Bryan B., Manoushka Zeegelaar Breeveld, Ronald Snijders, Oscar Harris and many, many more will be on stage to join the festivities, with hosts Gerda Havertong and Rayen Panday.
