During the listening sessions you will hear spatial music especially created for the 4DSOUND system. This selection of sound works showcases a variety of approaches towards spatial sound, in which elements of space, movement and architecture play a defining role in the compositional process. Delve into every corner, lay down on the floor or sit on a comfy chair, open your ears and let yourself be moved by this one-of-a-kind sonic experience.
This listening session features works by sound artist and composer Thomas Ankersmit producer and composer Casimir Geelhoed.

For this work, Ankersmit combines his Serge Modular synthesizer with the spatial synthesis of 4DSOUND software, to construct a series of abstract, turbulent sound-landscapes surrounding the listener. Like looking at a hurricane through a microscope, each particle within the turmoil is sculpted in fine detail.
Casimir Geelhoed is a composer and software developer who explores expressive relationships between software and sound. Recurring themes in Geelhoed's musical work are a focus on introspection, anxiety, overstimulation and fragility. For this work he connects methodologies of noise music, counterpoint and spatial sound, making expressive usage of the perceptual tipping point at which individually perceivable sound sources melt into indefinable overarching sound masses.
Supported by Creative Industries Fund NL and Richard Thomas Foundation. Spatialised at Monom Studios. A sublime surrender. In memory of Ivan / IOANN.
