Conductor and violist Simon Murphy gives a festive birthday concert full of favourite works each of which has played a special part in his own personal musical path over the years. The programme features Telemann's popular Viola Concerto in G, symphonies by J. Stamitz, C.F. Abel and the “Dutch Haydn” Joseph Schmitt, as well as musical treasures from Murphy and the New Dutch Academy's current project and forthcoming album, Dutch Crown Jewels. A selection of musical sweets by Bach and Handel complete the programme.
