This concert has an intermission
A musical spectacle in The Concertgebouw: Grootkoor Holland, consisting of no fewer than 1000 voices from the Netherlands’ local Grootkoor chapters, will perform an inspiring and stirring programme. Led by conductors Etty van der Mei and Nan van Groeningen, they’ll take you on a musical trip through classical masterpieces, popular choral works, and famous melodies from pop music. Two vocal stars, soprano Donij van Doorn and tenor Leonardo Gramegna, will join the Grootkoor Holland choir for a very special concert combining classic choral music, opera and selections from musicals.
A stage for all
The Concertgebouw is right at the heart of Dutch music. That is why we love to welcome the best amateur orchestras and choirs of the Netherlands. To an amateur musician a performance at the Concertgebouw is always special, often marking the end of an extensive period of rehearsals. Please note: although these concerts are of a high standard, they are not performed by professional ensembles.
