Opera per Tutti! consists of artistic director, presenter and mezzo-soprano Mylou Mazali and an ever-changing cast, 'zapping' through a diverse opera repertoire. This special concept was developed very successfully in 2007 at the Vondelkerk as a regular programme: in a single programme, four soloists and a pianist perform highlights from several operas and present them masterfully.
For this benefit concert, which focuses entirely on the fateful New Year's Eve when 'our' Vondelkerk burned down, opera excerpts have been selected that will resonate with feelings of despair, sadness, but also resilience and hope. Well-known pieces from Il Trovatore, Tosca, Nabucco and Lakmé will also be enhanced and linked by photographic material of the beloved Vondelkerk and related scenes from operas.
