This concert has no intermission
On Sunday 21 June 2026, Nieuw Vocaal Amsterdam will celebrate its 20th anniversary! For 20 years, NVA has been the leading singing school for children and young people from Amsterdam and the surrounding area, and now has 500 pupils (aged 4–21) who sing at one of the six teaching venues spread across the city. Since 2016, NVA has been the regular children’s choir partner of the Dutch National Opera & Ballet and Cappella Amsterdam. In collaboration with the Leerorkest, NVA reaches 1,500 children annually in schools in Amsterdam Zuidoost, Nieuw-West and Noord.
A stage for all
The Concertgebouw is right at the heart of Dutch music. That is why we love to welcome the best amateur orchestras and choirs of the Netherlands. To an amateur musician a performance at the Concertgebouw is always special, often marking the end of an extensive period of rehearsals. Please note: although these concerts are of a high standard, they are not performed by professional ensembles.
