Classic FM has described Rebecca Dale as ‘one of today's most exciting young composers, a household name in years to come’. On Sunday afternoon 23 April 2023, she will present the premiere performance of three of her compositions by the Dale Movie Orchestra, the Opus 11 choir and an international cast of soloists. The rich, cinematic music, lavish orchestra and a special lighting arrangement are guaranteed to create a uniquely immersive concert.

In 2018, young British composer Rebecca Dale made history when she became the first female composer to sign to Universal Music’s Decca Classics label. She has composed works for dozens of classical artists and ensembles, including the London Mozart Players and the Scottish Festival Orchestra, and written music for films produced by 20th Century Fox and Disney among others, with her cinematic compositions naturally lending themselves to the silver screen. Her score for the feature film Crossing the Line was nominated for best original music at the international Music & Sound Awards. On the afternoon of the premiere, the young composer will appear in person to lead the audience into the story behind her work.
Rebecca Dale’s music will be performed by the Dale Movie Orchestra, the Opus 11 choir and international soloists conducted by Arnaud Oosterbaan. Together they delivered a stellar performance in the open-air Wadopera in September 2021. Now they are set to shine again with a compelling cast that includes sopranos Channa Malkin and An de Winter and tenor Leon van Liere. The famous Maarschalkerweerd organ will complete the cinematic soundscape.
