Bernstein Ouverture uit 'Candide'
Festive Holiday Concert with the Netherlands Philharmonic
Ouverture (from Guillaume Tell)
Che gelida manina (from La bohème)
Si. Mi chiamano Mimi (from La bohème)
Overture (from Die Fledermaus, op. 362)
The Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra presents a sparkling end-of-year programme. Conducted by the young Italian maestro Michele Spotti, it features highlights from the Italian, Central European and French opera traditions, with a touch of light music. From the emotions of Puccini's La Bohème to the seduction of Bizet's Carmen; from the opulent waltzes of Strauss' Die Fledermaus to the energy of Rossini. This is opera as performed by the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra – the Netherlands' leading opera orchestra – at its best: from compelling to light-hearted and festive. This programme is given an extra festive flair with a touch of Bernstein, a nod to the dance floor and, in the encore – don't tell anyone! – a warm and charming final chord by Édith Piaf.
The Netherlands Philharmonic is one of the most versatile cultural organisations in The Netherlands. The orchestra organises a diverse concert program in The Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam and is a welcome guest on foreign stages and festivals. The Netherlands Philharmonic brings classical music to life at the highest level and collaborates closely with international guest soloists and conductors. It takes great pleasure in welcoming and developing new musical talent. Lorenzo Viotti is the principal conductor of Dutch National Opera and the Netherlands Philharmonic.
