SOUK Festival 2023: Nawal El Zoghbi visits the Concertgebouw

On 9 & 10 June the Amsterdam Arabic Festival SOUK will take over the Concertgebouw. Lebanese international star Nawal El Zoghbi ‒ together with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra and soloists from the Dutch National Ballet ‒ will carry the audience away on a musical journey. This is Nawal El Zoghbi’s debut performance in Amsterdam. Previous editions of SOUK have featured Syrian singer Assala Nasri and Moroccan singer Asma Lamnawar. For the sixth edition of this festival, the Concertgebouw will be transformed into an Arabian bazaar with music, dance, and traditional food in all the reception areas and corridors. Ticket sales for the festival begin 23 March at 10 am via the Concertgebouw's website.

Souk Festival: music, poetry, dance, DJs, and culinary delights

The Amsterdam Arabic Festival SOUK includes two evenings filled with a wide variety of music, dance, DJs, and poetry. The Netherlands Chamber Orchestra conducted by Jochen Neuffer will perform in the Main Hall. Also, soloists from the National Ballet dancing to Remi Wörtmeyer’s choreography are certain to add to the evening’s musical allure. Not only the stage but also the Concertgebouw’s reception areas and corridors will be transformed into a lively Arabian bazaar with an assortment of culinary delights ‒ all together a feast for the senses!

SOUK Festival: Muziek, poëzie, dans, DJ’s en culinaire specialiteiten

Het SOUK Amsterdam Arabic Festival omvat twee avonden met een grote variëteit. De rijke Arabische cultuur van toen en nu wordt gevierd en samengebracht met de Westerse cultuur. Niet alleen het podium maar ook alle foyers en gangen van Het Concertgebouw veranderen in een levendige Arabische markt met muziek, poëzie, dans, DJ’s en culinaire specialiteiten. In de Grote Zaal speelt het Nederlands Kamerorkest onder leiding van Jochen Neuffer. Solisten van Het Nationale Ballet dansen in een choreografie van Remi Wörtmeyer.
