Sonic Journey is a listening experience in which listeners are taken on a musical journey through time, guided by carefully selected tracks, sound fragments and curated stories. Through deep listening, connections and influences between styles and creators gradually become audible. In an accessible and relaxed way, Sonic Journey invites listeners to experience the joy of truly attentive listening.
Sonic Journey was created by Nathan Kofi and Derk Louwes: Nathan Kofi is a music professional, cultural analyst, concept developer and educator, with a deep passion for subcultural music and identity. He is also a DJ, producer and devotee of nightlife culture, with 14 years of experience in the music industry. Founder of De Lichting and former artistic director of club and cultural venue De School Amsterdam. Derk Louwes is a curator, educator, speaker and consultant. He designs and facilitates music-based interventions and playlists for relaxation and recovery, including in professional sports, drawing on scientific research and years of experience.

German pianist Julius Asal is quickly establishing himself as one of the promising performers of his generation. In October 2023, Deutsche Grammophon announced the exclusive signing with Julius Asal. Moreover, he was recently selected as a BBC New Generation Artist. The young pianist, named as Rising Star 2024 by Classic FM, has performed in prestigious concert halls such as Wigmore Hall London, Musikverein Vienna, Suntory Hall Tokyo, Seoul Arts Center, and Elbphilharmonie Hamburg

Grammy nominated soprano Sophia Burgos is fast emerging internationally as a young talent of outstanding intelligence, musicality and stage presence. During the last few seasons she gave several important role and house debuts: as Teresa in Benvenuto Cellini with Sir John Eliot Gardiner and the Monteverdi Ensemble, as Despina in Cosi fan tutte at De Nationale Opera, and as Fox in The Cunning Little Vixen with the London Symphony Orchestra and Sir Simon Rattle.

Dutch tenor Linard Vrielink made his debut at Staatsoper Berlin as Scaramuccio/Ariadne auf Naxos while he was still studying at the Universität der Künste in Berlin. In recent seasons, Linard Vrielink has made noteworthy debuts and return performances, highlighting his growing presence in the opera and concert scene. He debuted with the Berliner Philharmoniker in Mozart’s Krönungsmesse and appeared at the BBC Proms with the London Symphony Orchestra and Sir Simon Rattle in Schumann’s Das Paradies und die Peri.

Praised for her “silken grace” and “brilliant command” (The Strad), American violinist Stella Chen first gained international recognition as the winner of the 2019 Queen Elizabeth International Violin Competition. Her critically acclaimed debut album Stella x Schubert, released in 2023 on Apple Music’s Platoon label, earned her the Young Artist of the Year title at the Gramophone Awards.
