This concert has no intermission
The Leerorkest is celebrating its 20th anniversary! To mark the occasion, on Thursday 18 June, children and students from the Leerorkest Amsterdam, Heerlen and various school choirs will give a grand concert, made possible in part by the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and The Concertgebouw. In addition to three hundred children and the entire Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, members of the Jong Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw and various soloists will also be making an appearance, namely Remy van Kesteren, Izaline Calister, Haytham Safia, Lucas Santana, Serdina Gezik and Pippa Drijver. Together they will perform a varied programme: from Elgar and Saint-Saëns to Son Mieux and Katy Perry. The concert will be presented (in Dutch) by Nicole Terborg and Jet Berkhout.
A stage for all
The Concertgebouw is right at the heart of Dutch music. That is why we love to welcome the best amateur orchestras and choirs of the Netherlands. To an amateur musician a performance at the Concertgebouw is always special, often marking the end of an extensive period of rehearsals. Please note: although these concerts are of a high standard, they are not performed by professional ensembles.
