Jorge Drexler

Uruguayan composer and singer Jorge Drexler is one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Spanish-language music. For over thirty years, Drexler has been building a multifaceted body of work, which now includes fifteen albums. Albums in which he brings together music, literature, and knowledge. Always guided by his curiosity, his urge to experiment, and his deep love for poetry. Drexler, originally trained as a doctor, moved to Spain in 1995 to focus entirely on music. He has been honored with an Oscar and multiple Latin Grammys, among other awards. With his new album TARACÁ, he is breaking new ground: an album that bridges cultures, eras, and styles, with the rhythm of Uruguayan candombe as its central theme. Tonight, accompanied by his seven-piece band, Drexler brings TARACÁ to life, alongside other songs from his rich career.
