Kees lives in an old house with his parents, but they’re almost never home. They’re much too busy with work. Kees is often all by himself, but that doesn’t matter, because he’s got a lively imagination. Alone in his room, he builds fantastic huts, draws cartoons and makes up stories about knights, castles and robbers. But his imagination never stops. Sometimes, lying in bed, he feels afraid hearing his parents talking about the news or the arguments they had at work. Because he doesn’t understand it all, he starts to use his unbridled imagination to join these stories together, into huge invincible monsters trying to get into his world. A musical feel-good performance, where kids can discover that there are a hundred different ways to deal with your fears.

Please note: narration during this concert will be in Dutch.

Children’s Concerts

What does a house sound like? Or a wheel? What do you hear when you are in love? Or in the seventh heaven? The Concertgebouw’s Children’s Concerts take children aged 4 to 12 on a wonderful journey of discovery into the world of music, instruments and musicians. Breathtaking music and stories that challenge children to listen, to look, to sing and to participate. They learn about the most beautiful sounds and modern and ancient masterworks from near and far in a playful manner. Please note: narration during these concerts will be in Dutch.
