Beethoven Festival Online

Symphonies, Sessions and more

Nine symphonies in nine days

In 2020 it will be 250 years ago that Ludwig van Beethoven was born, that should be celebrated! During the Beethoven Festival Online you will hear Beethoven's nine symphonies in nine days, performed by the Concertgebouworkest conducted by Iván Fischer. Each concert starts with a Beethoven Talk, in which Floris Kortie interviews members of the Concertgebouworkest.

Beethoven's chamber music and more

Beethoven's most beautiful chamber music can be heard during six Empty Concertgebouw Sessions that were recorded especially for the Beethoven Festival Online. You will hear Ronald Brautigam, Simone Lamsma, the Van Baerle Trio and an ensemble from the Concertgebouworkest, among others. Moreover, the podcast Praten over Muziek, in which Gijs Groenteman speaks extensively with Ronald Brautigam (in Dutch), and the documentary In Search of Beethoven bring you even closer to the master's work.
